In Vigo, a city on the West coast of Spain, an international conference brought together world leading experts in media accessibility.
A culmination of several years work, the gathered academics and professionals launched a new online service where research into subtiting, dubbing and audio description services can be shared Europe wide.
The delegates then produced a set of recommendations for the European Commission to consider. The document outlined several key reforms to ensure broadcasting standards across the continent are accessible for as wide a range of people as possible.
I was commissioned to cover the conference and produce an accompanying video showcasing a new interlingual subtitling technique.
I was filming alongside Kate Dangerfield from Roehampton University, who also produced the subtitles for both videos.
